Dr. Shireen Ghorbani is a board-certified adult gastroenterologist with over a decade of experience dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. A highly skilled endoscopist, Dr. Ghorbani is adept at performing upper endoscopy and colonoscopy to address various digestive issues and help prevent colon cancer.

Dr. Ghorbani’s commitment to medicine extends beyond clinical care. She has held prominent leadership positions, including as president of the San Diego GI Society and serving on the Medical Supervisory Committee at a large metropolitan hospital, helping to promote physician education and collaboration, and improve hospital safety.

Dr. Ghorbani earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at UC San Diego, followed by a Masters in Physiology & Biophysics at Georgetown University. She then went on to medical school at Drexel University in Philadelphia, followed by Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center combined program. She completed Gastroenterology fellowship at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla.

After spending her first few years out of fellowship working in San Diego, Dr. Ghorbani moved back to the Bay Area in 2019, proudly serving the community in which she grew up. With her new private practice opening in late 2025, Dr. Ghorbani plans to continue providing exceptional care to the East bay community and beyond.

Dr. Ghorbani is fluent in English, Farsi, and French.
